Unroll your mat and open your heart â itâs time for Rescue Cat Yoga! Move through a gentle, beginner-friendly flow while adorable, adoptable rescue cats from the Brandywine Valley SPCA wander, play, and cuddle around you. Itâs yoga with little extra joy built in. A portion of your ticket will go directly to the BVSPCA, to support their important work. And who knows - you might just meet your new best friend!
This 75-minute all-levels event blends intentional flexibility work with a fully live, acoustic sound bath featuring handpan, rain stick, and more. We'll begin with breathwork and intention setting, then move through 20 minutes of guided kneeling and seated stretches, with space to target areas requested by the group. Each stretch is held for about a minute to encourage gradual release. Once the stretching is complete, you'll lie back as the rain stick guides you into savasana for a 40-minute live sound bath â no speakers, no recordings â just the organic resonance of handpan and layered textures, flowing through dynamic peaks and settling into stillness. We'll close with a few quiet moments to integrate and return. Come ready to stretch, soften, and deeply rest.
You know the line. Now feel it in your core. This is a Pilates class inspired by the confidence, tact, and power of The Devil Wears Prada cast. Aya will lead you through a strong, intentional 45-minute Pilates class followed by a movie night screening of one of her favorite movies of all time. Bring yourself and your mat, move with intention, and leave feeling a little more like you just stepped off the Runway editorial floor.
Want to connect with your Bright Bear community off the mat? Eager to get more comfortable biking in a friendly group? Love riding a bike, sipping coffee, chatting, and eating treats? Then come join us on a Bright Bear Community Bike Ride on Saturday, May 2 from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM! Our group will ride from Bright Bear Yoga to a coffee shop in Northeast and back to the studio. The coffee shop will be shared with all registered attendees the week of the ride. Ride your own bike or grab a Capital Bikeshare - we'll plan the route to include stops for anyone using a Capital Bikeshare. This is a FREE event, but please sign up ahead of time so we know how many folks to expect.
Robed warriors traveling the galaxy. Wizened gurus in faraway lands. Countless hours training your mind to channel a mysterious Force. Wait a second - is Star Wars rooted in Buddhism? Join JM for a 90-minute, all-levels practice exploring strength, balance, and perspective through playful âJediâ inversions and transitions. Weâll build skill, face a little fear, and maybe surprise ourselves along the way. After practice, weâll stay for snacks and a guided conversation unpacking the philosophical threads behind it all - drawing connections between the teachings of George Lucas, Buddhist thought, and what it means to work with (rather than against) the forces in our own lives. Curious, skeptical, or just here for the snacks - come as you are.
If youâve ever rolled on a foam roller or pressed your thumb into a sore muscle for relief, youâve participated in myo-fascial release. Using nothing fancier than tennis balls weâll massage the fascia lines of the body, directly affecting the nervous system, helping to ease physical tension and calm the mind. Fascia massage is a great tool for addressing chronic pain and can help break up trigger points and habitual movement patterns resulting in an expanded sense of spaciousness in the body. No experience needed, come and learn a simple technique that will leave you with a peaceful sense of embodiment.
Your core is the bridge between your upper and lower body. When it connects, everything connects â and you move better. More efficiently, more intentionally, more intelligently. This workshop isn't about working harder. It's about working smarter. You'll explore how to: build a core that works for you; integrate core strength into full-body movement; practice with awareness and precision, and challenge your core without compromising integrity. Expect a dynamic, playful practice designed to ignite your core.
This is a space to slow down and check in with whatâs actually growing in your life. Through sound, stillness, and reflection, weâll tend to your inner garden. We start with a silent tea ceremony and personal reflection. Noticing whatâs blooming, whatâs been asking for your attention, and what might be ready to be gently pulled up so something new can take root. Just space to sit with yourself, soften, and listen. Come as you are. Leave with a little more clarity and a little more room to grow.
